Allen Canter

Allen Canter, 61, of Searcy died November 19, 2011 at Baptist Medical Center, in Little Rock. He was born January 25, 1950 in Saint Louis, MO to the late James and Olga Weltge Canter. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Gail Canter.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Searcy, Morning Optimist Club, Jaycees, and the Gideon Club. He also assisted with Camp Quality and with the Special Ministry Sunday School.

He is survived by two brothers; Ron Canter, of Searcy, and James and his wife Vicki Canter, of Searcy; three sisters; Ruth Duncan and husband Russell, of Romance, Roberta Elliott, of Fort Smith, and Donna Kilgore and husband Billy, of Searcy, and special friend, Shawn Key. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of friends.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, November 22 from 6-8 p.m. at the Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 23 at the First Baptist Church of Searcy.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to Searcy PAWS Inn or the Angel Tree.
