Ardith Ava Hughes

Ardith Ava Bennett Hughes age 100 of Letona, AR. passed away Monday, December 15, 2008. She was born in Letona, AR. on February 11, 1908 to the late John Richard Bennett and Sarah Yancey. Mrs. Hughes was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Kensett. She was a homemaker, loved quilting where she made many beautiful quilts for her loved ones. Ardith also loved canning items that she grew in her garden. Her greatest enjoyment was taking care of her family which she loved dearly.

Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Julius Hughes; two daughters, Vernell Coursey and Inez Davis; four brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by three sons, Melvin Hughes (Jonnie) of Searcy, Marvin Hughes (Bobbie) also of Searcy and Roy Hughes (Linda) of Kensett; three daughters, Wilmalee Christian (Bob) of St. Louis, MO., Levida Hardin (Dale) of Kensett and Louise Spencer (Walter) of Letona; twenty-nine grandchildren; fifty-three great-grandchildren; thirty-four great-great- grandchildren; five great-great -great grandchildren; six step grandchildren and thirteen step great-grandchildren.
