Avon Lee Cooper, 85, of Searcy passed away Sunday, September 11th at Unity Health Medical Center. He was born October 26, 1936, in Heber Springs, Arkansas to the late Loren and Gladys (Turley) Cooper.
Avon was a hard worker, who enjoyed being outside. He liked to run the sawmill and tinker in the yard. Avon was a family man. He cherished his wife and treasured his kids and grandkids.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 40 years, Susie; six sons, Aaron Cooper (Annette) of Shirley, Arkansas, Dewey Cooper (Misty) of Minnesota, Lee Cooper of Searcy, Wesley Cooper (Nikkie) of Rose Bud, Evan Cooper (Tosha) of Searcy, Steven Cooper (Ashaley) of Beebe; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Elwood Cooper, and one sister, Gail Congdon.
In addition to his parents, Avon was preceded in death by one son, Patrick Cooper; two daughters, Christina and Bernadette; one brother, Sydney Cooper; and one sister, Glenda Asal.
Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 PM, Friday, September 16th at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 16th in the Searcy McEuen Chapel with Bro. George Osborn officiating.
