Betty Sue Parsons

March 8, 1941 — November 18, 2018

Betty Sue (Neal) Parsons, 77, of Searcy, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018.  Born March 8, 1941, in Judsonia, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Lee Neal and Velma May (Hicks) Neal.

Betty had a knack for catching fish – usually more and bigger than those baiting her hook.  She loved the beauty of nature, often expressing it on canvass.  Deer, wolves, and southwest desert settings were common subjects of her passion.  She had a thumb that was forever green – able to take seeds, cuttings, or the puniest looking plants and cause them to thrive like there was no tomorrow.  She even helped create enduring heirlooms for young parents by bronzing infant’s shoes.  She never failed to express her love to her family and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Charlisa Sue Wood (Mark) and their children Autumne McDonald (Daniel), Corey Wood (Jennifer), Allen Wood (Stacy), and Eric Wood (Laurissa); daughter, Angela Pearce (Garrett) and children Jessie Nash and Lindsey Cowden (Corby); son, Ernest W. Parsons, Jr. (Sally) and their children Hannah Epler (Adam), Abigail Parsons (fiancé Reed Hobdy), and Heath Parsons; brothers Carl Neal (Billie) and Garry Neal (Marylyn) of Griffithville, AR; and sister Jacqueline (Jackie) Smith of Griffithville, AR; and a whole slew of great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest W. Parsons and brother, Harrold Neal.
