Bill Ed Bingham, 92, of Searcy, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 17, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 31,1930 in Detroit, MI to the late Edgar and Notra (Bailey) Bingham. He was a devoted husband, father, and papa who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Throughout his life, Bill was known for his kindness and generosity. He was a proud farmer and veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean War.
In his free time, Bill enjoyed reading, restoring antique cars and trucks, tinkering around in the garage, telling stories of his upbringing and spending time with his family. He was a long-time member of Liberty Baptist Church in Walker.
Left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren Stacy Southerland, Amy Pettway, Leslie Clegg, his great-grandchildren Madelaine Johnson, Christopher Southerland, Nadia Dolan, and Jakob, Addison, and Kaytlin Clegg. His sister Norma South, and numerous nieces and nephews that he considered his own.
In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his wife Tess Bingham, his son Aaron Bingham, and his brothers Burl, John, Walter Bingham, and sister Eva Mae Bingham.
Papa was loved beyond measure by his family and friends. He will be missed terribly but has gone to rest in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Services are private and all arrangements are entrusted to Searcy McEuen Funeral Home.
