Billy Morris Conley, 80, of Searcy died Tuesday, June 14th, 2011 at Searcy Healthcare. He was born September 2nd, 1930 to the late Walter Thurston and Gladys Harris Conley.
He retired as an electrician/journeyman for Arkansas Power and Light after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Park Avenue Baptist Church in Searcy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ken and Gerald Conley and one sister, Maxine Burrow.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Conley, one son, Greg Conley of Little Rock, one daughter, Glenda Conley Eckert and husband Greg of Sheridan, two grandsons, John Richard and Aaron Cole Eckert of Sheridan. He is also survived by brothers in law Bob Burrow of Augusta, Hulen and Lowell Dunkin of McCrory and one sister in law, Patsy Kindrex of McCrory. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a proud US Navy Veteran and served in the Korean War. He was a Member of the American Legion in McCrory and a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge #49 in Searcy.
Graveside service will be held on Wednesday June 15th, 2011 at 10:30 am at Fakes Cemetery in McCrory, Arkansas under the direction of Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
Billy will always be fondly remembered for his love of the outdoors. Especially hunting and fishing. He will be missed.
