Billy Frank Mchenry

Billy Frank McHenry, Sr. 74, of Pangburn, Arkansas went to be with his Lord December 27, 2009. He was born April 23, 1935 in Beryl, Arkansas to the late Frank E. and Mary Alice (Nelson) McHenry. He was a member of The First Christian Church in Searcy. He served his country and retired after twenty-two years of service with the U.S.Air Force and U.S. Army. He served as war combat service in (Army) Korea with the 45th Inf. Division Army 5th RCT Squadron in (U.S. Air Force) Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He later served as commander of the VFW Post 2330 in Searcy.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Viola Ernestine McHenry; two brothers, Robert F. McHenry and Jim N. McHenry; one sister, Francis Evelyn Fields.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy McHenry of Pangburn; one daughter, Rebecca McHenry Strickland of Judsonia; one son, Billy F. McHenry II of Searcy; one stepdaughter, Carol Pingel of Oppelo, AR. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Dianna Gervasoni, Brian Light, Barbara Light, Tabitha McHenry and Patrick McHenry; also, one great grandchild, Anthony Gervasoni. He is also survived by many extended family members and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 6:00 -8:00 PM at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home Chapel in Searcy, Arkansas.
Graveside funeral service will be at Wednesday, 2:00 P.M., December 30, 2009 at Weir Cemetery in McRae, Arkansas
