CHARLES E. YARBROUGH, 85, of Searcy, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home on November 5, 2018.
Born October 9, 1933 to Charlie Levi and Flossie Harrison Yarbrough, Charles grew up in the Crosby community just outside of Searcy, where he lived until his death. He was of the Baptist faith, retired from the U.S. Army and spent many years as a machinist and business owner.
Known by many in his family as “Buddy,” Charles was an avid Arkansas Razorbacks and Dallas Cowboys fan, loved doing crossword puzzles and spending daily time studying the Bible. He had a great sense of humor and quick wit, constantly cracking jokes – even up until his final days. Above all, he cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who called him “Papaw.”
Charles was preceded in death by the love of his life, Hilda Nell Yarbrough, who he was married to one-day shy of 64 years; his parents, and four siblings: V.J. Yarbrough, Mildred Fisher, C.J. (Tuffy) Yarbrough and Laverne Brown.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his three children, LaDonna Allen of Lonoke, Ark., Renee Deaton (Carl) of Denton, Texas, and Keith Yarbrough (Vicky) of Leander, Texas; eight grandchildren, Ricky Harvey of Fayetteville, Ark., Aimee Watson of Georgetown, Texas, Tim Deaton of Denton, Texas, David Yarbrough of Leander, Texas, Ryan Harvey of Cabot, Ark., Ashley Salmeron of Leander, Texas, Julie Stone of Denton, Texas, and Amanda Hall of Cabot, Ark.; a brother, Phil Yarbrough of Memphis, and a sister, Oleta Yarbrough, of North Little Rock; 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
