Christel Eleonore Thomas

Christel E. Thomas, 87, of Pangburn passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014. She was born December 10, 1926 to the late Fritz and Hedwig Kaminski Gruning in Germany.
Christel retired from the United States Army.

She is survived by one brother, Baldur Gruning and wife, Evelin of Germany; four sister-inlaws, Charlotte Gruning of Germany, Dorothy Young, Catherine Thomas, and Bessie Thomas all of Natchez, Mississippi; nephew and caregiver, Robert Young of Pangburn, Arkansas; and other nieces, and nephews from Germany, Arkansas, and Mississippi, and cousins in California, Germany and Canada.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Thomas; and one brother, Siegfried Gruning.

Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014 in the funeral home chapel with interment following at Henderson Cemetery.
