Christene Stracener Barnett

Christene Stracener Barnett, age 96 of Searcy entered into eternal rest peacefully at home on April 10, 2025. She was born February 20, 1929 to the late Alexander and Lula Mae Cohorn Stracener. She was a member of the Westside Church of Christ in Searcy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Ervin Barnett of Searcy; 7 sisters and 3 brothers.

She is survived by six children, Patsy Oliver (Larry)of Searcy, Nancy Rollins (Cal)of Cabot, Danny (Katie) of Searcy, David (Beverly)of Searcy, Sherry Hunter (Norman)of Searcy, and Keith of Searcy.

She loved and was loved by 9 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great, Great Grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren and 17 step great grandchildren.

She enjoyed calls and visits from a large host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home Monday, April 14. Visitation will begin at 10:00 followed by services at 11:00. Interment will follow at the Floyd Cemetery in Floyd, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations/honorariums be made for Dean Hayes, great grandson, who was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy in 2014. The receiving organizations can be found at:
