Christina Michelle Clemons Prince came two-stepping into the world on October 18, 1972 in Dallas, Texas to Judy Loan and Michael Clemons.
Michelle was the definition of a girl’s girl. She loved to dress up, talk to boys, and go out with her friends. One of her lesser known hobbies was torturing her younger brother, Nathan. She often recounted the tales of ways she would prank and scare him – at least until he got bigger than her.
As a child, Michelle was terrified of bugs (a trait she never grew out of). Her panicked screams would strike fear into everyone around her, who would run frantically to her aid only to discover a bee had simply flown too close for Michelle’s comfort. Speaking of bugs, she did not like the outdoors much at all, although she loved to swim.
As a young woman, Michelle was tall, dark-haired and beautiful. More than anything, she wanted to marry and have a family. In 1990, she married her first husband, James Moore, in Longview, Texas. Nine months later, she welcomed her only daughter, Tiffany Nicole, followed by her first son, Matthew Shane, sixteen months later. In 1997, she gave birth to her second son, Christopher Allen, with partner Chris Parker.
In 1999, Michelle met her second husband, Chris Prince. They married in 2000, and soon after, she welcomed her youngest son, Seth Michael, while living in Lindale, Texas.
Beyond her love of family, Michelle had a passion for dancing. She loved country music and frequently visited Longview favorites like The Reo and The Levy to dance and spend time with friends. Her daughter was in awe of Michelle’s impressive partner and line dancing skills, wishing she had inherited her mother’s dancing genes.
As time passed, Michelle eventually divorced and returned to Longview, where she continued to balance her time between family and friends. She lived a simple life, always doing her best for her children within her means.
In 2014, Michelle joyfully ferried her eldest son, Matthew, to his forever home in Tennessee, where he married his wife, Sidney, and became the proud father of three daughters—Elisabeth, Penelope, and Rosalie—and one son, Elijah.
Michelle welcomed and embraced everyone her children loved, including her daughter’s partner, Tony, and her son Christopher’s partner, Elizzabeth, along with Lizz’s family members, Dallas and Jessica. This loving spirit extended to all, ensuring they always felt cherished.
She loved God and her family above all else, and made an effort to ensure they all knew it. In fact, Michelle was a doting grandmother to all of her grandchildren (and grandpets), however near or far, and never missed a weekly call with her grandchildren in Tennessee or missed an opportunity to spend time with Charlotte and Dallas. After son Christopher welcomed his daughter, Charlotte, in November of 2022, Michelle spent much of Charlotte’s first months babysitting and caring for Charlotte while mom and dad were at work.
In 2018, after a long struggle with a mysterious illness that left her breathless doing even simple tasks, Michelle was finally diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension and congestive heart failure. This diagnosis marked the beginning of a challenging treatment journey as she worked to manage her condition. Despite the hardships, Michelle remained resilient and steadfast, determined to prolong her life and stay positive in the face of a challenging treatment journey – even as she lost the ability to enjoy many of her favorite activities, like dancing.
In 2023, Michelle moved to Searcy, Arkansas with her mother, Judy. They grew very close in this time, and leaned on each other for love, comfort, and support.
Michelle’s family was planning a big get together (the first in over 5 years) during Thanksgiving 2024, and Michelle, who had yet to meet little Elijah, was excited to have all of her children and grandchildren together under one roof. Tragically, Michelle went to eternal rest on October 12, 2024 in Little Rock, Arkansas after complications from pneumonia and heart failure, just 6 days shy of her 52nd birthday and before the big Thanksgiving event.
Remaining to cherish Michelle’s memory are children Tiffany Moore and partner Tony, Matthew Moore and wife Sidney, Christopher Parker and partner Elizzabeth, and Seth Prince; grandchildren Elisabeth, Penelope, Rosalie, Elijah, Dallas, and Charlotte; bonus daughter-in-law Jessica; mother Judy Loan Clemons; brother Nathan Loan; nephews Benjamin and Jacob; aunt Paulette Suttle and husband Hollis; and cousin Shannon Suttle-Rodden and children Garrett and Lorelai.
Preceding Michelle in death are father Michael Clemons, and cousins James Suttle and Gavin Rodden.
We like to think she is now dancing in heaven with Jesus. In honor of Michelle’s memory, we would encourage you to take a walk in your favorite park. Take a deep breath of fresh air. But most importantly, go right now and queue up your favorite country song, put on your dancin’ shoes, and dance.
