Claude Alvin La Ferney

Claude Alvin La Ferney, 70, of Searcy, Arkansas went to be with his Lord January 15, 2008. He was born June 30, 1937 to the late Frank Louis and Viola Obelia Parchman La Ferney. He is preceded in death by two brothers Thurston La Ferney and Charles and his wife Billye La Ferney. He was a member of the Gum Springs Methodist Presbyterian Church, and long time trainer of the Gum Springs Fire Department. Claude was an avid bluegrasser, loving husband and brother, wonderful father and grandfather, and loved by all who knew him.

Claude is survived by his wife, Mary Lou La Ferney of Searcy, one son David Claude La Ferney of Barberton, Ohio, two daughters, Susan Marie Woods of North Little Rock, Lisa Roberson and husband Robert of Enola, Arkansas. He is also survived by one brother, Gerald Ray and wife LaVeta La Ferney of Austin, Arkansas, three sisters, Juanita Olmstead of Beebe, Freda Miller of McRae, Cleo Milton and husband Charles of Searcy, one sister in law, Nelda Jean La Ferney of Arkadelphia, three grandchildren, Jake La Ferney, Mikaela and Hannah Roberson as well as other cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday January 18, 2008 at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home in Searcy Arkansas. Celebration of life will be at 1 PM Saturday January 19, 2008 at the Searcy-McEuen Chapel in Searcy Arkansas.
