David Mark Alkire

David Mark Alkire, 54, of Batesville, (formerly of Searcy), went to be with the Lord Friday, February 17, 2012. He was born September 6, 1957 in Greenville, Mississippi to Robert and Mary Alkire. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Batesville. He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at Kanto Plains Baptist Church in Yokota, Japan in 1969. Even though he had many trials to face in his life, he never strayed from his love of God. In addition to being a proud Christian, he served a short time in the military as a Marine.

David is survived by his parents; two brothers, Robert and wife Diane of Conway, and Steve and wife Jane of Sidon; three nieces, Melia and husband "T", Alison and husband Josh, and Shelly; two great nieces, Marleigh and Celeigh.

The family will greet friends at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 20, with funeral services conducted at 2:00 p.m.

Interment will follow at Honey Hill Cemetery under the direction of Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
