David "Craig" Hirst,57, beloved son, uncle, brotherand friend died on April 8, 2011.
Craig was born on November 7, 1953 to David Clair and Gyla Hirst in
Brigham City, Utah. He was the middle of three children and the
onlyboy. He attended school in Utah until middle school when he moved
to Wyoming, to join the yours and mine combinedfamily of his father and
stepmother, Arlene Hirst.
He graduated fromEvanston High School in 1972. Following graduation he
joined the Air Force and served during the Vietnam conflict. After
his military service he tried several areas of employment until he found
his niche as a long haul truck driver. He was very proud of the fact he
attained the elite club of 2 million truck miles without a serious injury
or accident. He loved seeing all the beautiful places across America and
seeing the sun come up in one state and going down several states away.
Before his illness he was working on his 3rd million truck miles.
At the time of his passing, Craig was not married and had no children.
He is survived by his sisters, Vicki Brooks, Concord, California and Holly
Hirst, Roy, Utah; step sisters LeeAnn (Bob)Stocking, The Dalles,
Oregon,Charlene (Eric) Berlin, Westerville, Ohio; step brothers Ron
(Kathy) and Will(Donell) Atkinson, Evanston, Wyoming. He was preceded in
death by both sets of parents, and grandparents. Following his wishes,
cremation hastaken place and no memorial services are being planned at
this time.
