Dora “Dean” Phillips, 88, of Searcy passed away Friday, March 4th at The Crossing at Riverside. She was born March 27, 1933, in Cadron Gap, Arkansas to the late Henry and Clora (Sardin) Cox.
She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Dean was married at the age of 13 to Harry Phillips and the two stayed married for 66 years until Mr. Phillips's passing. Dean and Harry were farmers. Dean stayed faithfully by his side out in the fields. However, when she was not farming you could find her quilting which was her passion.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Harry Sherrill Phillips of Searcy; three grandchildren, Kathy Kinsey of Kensett, Brian Phillips of Cave Springs, and Deena Wright (Michael) of Fayetteville; ten great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Kay Allen “Buddy” Cox of Judsonia; and one sister, Syble Spurlock (William) of Searcy.
In addition to her parents, Dean was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Phillips.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, March 8th at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 9th in the Searcy McEuen Chapel with burial following at White County Memorial Gardens.
All Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Searcy McEuen Funeral Home.
