Donald Ray Wallis Sr., 87, of Searcy went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Unity Health Medical Center. He was born May 17, 1935, in Evening Shade, Arkansas to the late Leland and Myrtle (Stewart) Wallis.
Ray was member of First Baptist Church in Searcy for over 50 years. He was a people person, who was kindhearted and loving. Ray enjoyed life and never met a stranger. Ray had a real compassion for the elderly and because of this he would hold Sunday services at Beverly Healthcare in Searcy. This is something he had done for many years. He was also a member of the Kawana’s Club for several years. Ray was a huge sports fan and he loved to watch the Razorbacks. He also liked to fish and enjoyed being outdoors. He was a family man who treasured his late wife, Barbara and cherished his children, and all his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, one daughter, Lil Jones (Bobby) of Searcy; one son, Donnie Wallis of Little Rock; six grandchildren, Rob and Gretchen Jones; Austin (Sarai), Dylan, Carson, and Caleb Wallis; four great-grandchildren, Bentley Jones, Jace Garrison, Zoë McCane; and Nevaeh Wallis; and one brother, Dean Wallis (Betty) of Searcy; one sister-in-law; Freda Wallis of Batesville and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Leland and Myrtle Wallis, Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Wallis; one brother, Buddy Wallis, and two sisters, Wanda Lee, and Lillian Wallis.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM, Saturday, October 8th at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 8th in the Searcy McEuen Chapel.
All Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Searcy McEuen Funeral Home.
