Earl D. Baker, 84, business owner and entrepreneur of Searcy, died Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at U.A.M.S. in Little Rock.
He was born March 14, 1928 in Searcy, an only child, to the late Elmer and Estella Martindale Baker.
Mr. Baker began his life as an entrepreneur with Baker's Family Shoe Store on the town square in Searcy. After the inspiration of his uncles, Herman and Trumann Baker and cousin Wallace Baker, he opened his used car dealership, Earl Baker Motor Company. In addition to his successful endeavors as a self employed business man, Mr. Baker cherished his time with his family and friends, and was quite involved with arranging the annual family reunions.
He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Wesley Fulks and wife Kelly of Searcy; one grandson, Kyler Fulks also of Searcy; numerous cousins and many great friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 18 at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 O'clock p.m. Saturday, January 19 at Valley Baptist Church in Searcy. Interment will follow in the Baker family plot at Honey Hill Cemetery under the direction of Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
