Eric Leon McLain

It’s said grief only exists where love first lived, and it is with heavy hearts that we grieve the loss of Eric Leon McLain. Eric passed away on April 6, 2024, in Searcy, Arkansas, at the age of 41.

Eric was born in Paragould, Arkansas on February 9, 1983, to Bob and Janice (George) McLain. He was a 2001 graduate of Greene County Tech High School, an Arkansas State University graduate and a UAMS College of Pharmacy graduate. 

Eric was an avid baseball fan, loved to play golf, go fishing, read, and laugh at Calvin and Hobbes. He lived life through simple pleasures, talking with family, and friends, going to concerts and theater, and enjoying a round of golf. He had the ability to know when others were in need and kindly, quietly met their need to better their day. 

Left to cherish Eric’s memory are, his mother, Janice McLain of Paragould, Arkansas; one sister, Laura (McLain) Newberry and husband, Matt Newberry of Paragould, Arkansas; and many loving family members and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his dad, Bobby McLain; maternal grandparents, Lavelle and Dorothy George; and his paternal grandparents, Walt and Nancy McLain.

The immediate family will be having a private memorial. To honor Eric’s life, take time to enjoy a round of golf, read a book, or yell at a baseball game, whichever suits you best.
