Ernie Blount

Ernest Farrell ("Ernie") Blount, 68, passed away unexpectedly Monday afternoon, May 2, 2016, in Liberty Valley, Bald Knob, doing what he loved: a good deed for others. Born to the late Noah and Leslie (Kilman) Blount in Canton, OH on December 31, 1947, Ernie was a retired District Circulation Manager for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Searcy. Ernie was a generous, hard-working, kind, Christian man who will be fondly remembered.

Survivors include his wife of forty-nine years, Martha (Collison) Blount; daughter: Marcia Wilson (Charles) of Sherwood, AR; sons: Timothy Blount (Meredith) of Thompson Station, TN; Kenneth Blount (Katrina) of Guilford, CT. Grandchildren: Bethany, Jonathan, Abigail, Solomon, and Violet Blount, and Andrew Wilson (Sarah); great-grandchildren: Kelsey and Shelby Wilson. Surviving brother: William Blount (Bonnie) of Detroit, MI; surviving sisters: Edith Hein and Carol Dye (Richard) both of Canton, OH, and a special sister-in-law, Ellen Blount of Oak Creek, WI; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Ernie was predeceased by one sister: Barbara Gladin (Wade) of SC; three brothers: David Blount (Hilda) and Donald Blount of OH and Golden Blount (Joan) of MI; and a brother-in-law: Charles Hein.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 5th, at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 6th, at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home, with burial following at Shady Grove Cemetery.
