Esther "Avalee" King, 83, of Sunnydale, went to meet Jesus on February 12, 2012 in Searcy.
She was born to the late Odis and Dolly "Hill" Wood on February 24, 1928, in Union Grove (Independence County) Arkansas. She married the love of her life, Marvin King, on April 13, 1946 by Isom Byrd at Steprock, AR.
She was a member of Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She and her husband enjoyed (folk music and dancing) and regularly attended dances. They were well known for their dancing talents and won many dance contests throughout the years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years Marvin King of the home, one son Doye "Patti" King of Pleasant Plains AR, one daughter Rene "Jamie" Morris of Springville, UT, three grandsons Denny King of Centerton, AR, Jacoby & Jaren Morris of Springville, UT, one great grandson Dylan Morris of Springville, UT one brother Corkey "Mary Ruth" Wood of Judsonia and 5 nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 15, from 6-8 at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Thursday, February 16, at 10 a.m. at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Clay, Arkansas, with interment following at the Roosevelt Cemetery, in Roosevelt Community.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jacoby Morris, Jaren Morris, Johnny Wood, David Wood, Larry Wood, and Monty Wood; honorary pallbearers are Denny King and Dylan Morris.
