Ethel Margaret Ellis

Ethel Margaret Ellis age 79, of Searcy, Arkansas went to be with her Lord in Savior in paradise on Sunday, June 14, 2009. She was born in Searcy, Arkansas on May 16, 1930 to the late Ed and Joetta (Lewis) Johnson. She was of the Baptist faith. Ethel was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Preston Ellis; one son, Johnny Lee Mason; two brothers, Bobby and Elgee Johnson; two sisters, Eddie Mae Johnson and Joyce Jones; three grandchildren, Kimberly Flemings, Lamont and Larry Mason.

She is survived by three daughters, Othella Flemings of Searcy, Margaret Oliver of Memphis, TN. and Linda and Rev. Carl Parks of Searcy; stepchildren, Freddie Neal, Robert Ellis, Preston Ellis, Jr., Tyrone Ellis and Clara Ellis; one brother, James Johnson of St. Louis; one sister, Erma Johnson of Searcy; sister-in-laws and husbands Dorothy and Robert Hardaway and Enola and Chester Neal; twelve grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Also may nieces, nephews other relatives and a host of friends.

Wake service will be 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., Friday, June 19, 2009 at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home in Searcy, Arkansas.

Celebration of life service will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 20, 2009 at St. Mary CME church in Searcy with Rev. Carl Parks officiating.

Interment will follow the service at Gum Springs Cemetery in Searcy, Arkansas
