Dean Hackworth

Dean Hackworth, 84, of Searcy passed away peacefully Sunday, January 16, 2022. He was born October 4, 1937, in Thayer, Missouri.

Dean is survived by his only son, Eric Lee Hackworth; one brother, Duane Hackworth and wife Linda of Lake St. Louis, MO; three sisters, Marietta Barton and husband Carlos of Marthasville, MO, Anita Shaffer and husband George of Buffalo, MO, Vernita Miller and husband James of Thayer, MO; two sisters-in-law, Nelda Hackworth of Batesville, AR and Linda Hackworth of O’Fallon, MO; many nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends as well as special friends, Monte, Tammy and Whitney Hays.
Dean was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Hackworth, his parents Arnett Leo Hackworth and Jettie May Hackworth; two brothers, Dolan Hackworth, and Lester Hackworth and one sister, Juanita Hackworth.
Dean was a member of Valley Baptist Church and retired from Matthews International. Dean devoted his life to caring for Eric and was always happy when speaking of Eric and Nancy. Dean was a friend to all who knew him and will be missed by the many, many lives he touched.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 19th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Valley Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 20th also at Valley Baptist Church. Interment will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Searcy. Dean requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Sunshine School or Valley Baptist Church.
