Gary Lee Southard

Gary Lee Southard, 73, of Griffithville, Arkansas, died Friday, June 21, 2024. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ila Winifred (Teddy) Banner Southard and Leroy Southard both of Glenview, Illinois and Griffithville, Arkansas. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Linda Kay Southard of Chicago, IL, and one great-granddaughter, Everleigh Smith of Griffithville. 

He is survived by his wife of nineteen and a half years, Jamie Kay of the home; one bonus son, Matthew Smith and wife April; three grandchildren, Alissa Smith, Kyler Smith, and Grant Smith and wife Alexandria; three great-grandchildren, Alice Smith, Max Smith, and Chase Chambers all of Griffithville. 

He is also survived by one sister, Gail Ann Southard McNeal and husband Thomas Joseph of Naperville, IL; three brothers, Stanley James Southard of Glenview, IL, Alan Roy Southard of Griffithville, and Orin Dee Southard of Chicago, IL; a special friend, Joseph John Koch of Griffithville, and five nieces, seven great nieces, and two great-nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Searcy McEuen Funeral Home with services to begin at 2:00 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Dogwood Cemetery Association. 

Burial with military honors will be held at a later date.
