Gerald Wayne Rhodes

Gerald W. Rhodes, 81, of Searcy passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2016 at his home. He was born April 27, 1935 in Rose Bud, Arkansas to the late Chester and Ollie Mae (Gray) Rhodes.

Gerald liked to hunt and fish. He also loved country music and those who knew him knew not to touch the radio. Gerald was a hard worker. He was always on the move; he liked to stay busy never being idle. He was a homebody who loved working in his yard and helping his neighbors. Gerald was a very frugal man. He was a wonderful and loving husband, daddy, grandpa, and great grandpa who will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 20 years, Mae Rhodes; two daughters, Teresa Rhodes and Lisa Kidd both of Beebe, one brother, Jimmie Dale Rhodes and wife, Anna of Benton; four grandchildren, Cory Snelson, Bradley Snelson, Wesley Churchwell, and Alex Churchwell; three great grandchildren, Josie, Clara, and Brody; and many step grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other family. He is also survived by his loyal dog, Snoop.
In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Lynn (Jake) Rhodes.

Visitation will be from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday, May 26 at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 27th at Searcy-McEuen Chapel with burial following at White County Memorial Gardens.
