Hazel Sallie (Dennis) Beals was the second of four daughters of Albert Barton Dennis and Lillian Louise (Scott) Dennis, born on September 27, 1941, in the Stringham community in White County, Arkansas. Mrs. Beals passed from this life on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at The Crossing At Riverside Health & Rehabilitation at the age of 80 years, 4 months, and 22 days.
Hazel and Clifton Jeral Beals had their first date on January 5, 1959, and they eloped and were married on October 29, 1961. They had recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary.
Hazel and her new husband began attending Garner Missionary Baptist Church the second Sunday after they were married and have continued for over 60 years. Hazel was a lady of strong faith, never wavering, even in the darkest of times.
Hazel always remembered others in prayer and encouraged everyone to pray for the sick and the needy. She always wanted to help someone in need, many times doing it quietly, but like her husband Clifton, never wanted to be the recipient of help.
Hazel was a strong-willed, determined, soft-spoken lady who could make her voice heard when she felt it necessary.
Hazel and Clifton were the parents of two sons, Steven Jeral Beals born November 29, 1962, and Randy DeWight Beals born November 19, 1965.
Hazel is survived by two sisters: Ruby Garrison of Elkins, and Margaret Hebel of McRae, numerous other extended relatives, her church family, and a host of friends.
Hazel is preceded in death by her husband, both her sons, her parents, and one sister: Ellen Moore.
