J.T. Rocka, 87, of Searcy, died November 16, 2011. He was born November 5, 1924 in Milvid, Texas to the late Henry M. and Pearl Issac Rocka.
Mr. Rocka was a man of many accomplishments. During WWII, he built Liberty Ships, where he learned the trade of steel fabrication. Later in life he raised chickens, but also was one of the first turkey farmers in White County, owned a dairy farm, and also owned Rocka's Trailers and Ironworks in Sidon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Rocka Jr. and Alton Rocka.
He is survived by his loving wife of a blessed 70 years, Annie Mae Clamon Rocka; two sons, J.T. "John" Rocka Jr. and wife Mary of Dennison, TX., and Tommy Rocka and wife Sharla of Winnsboro, TX..; two daughters, Patsy Andrews of Wills Point, TX. And Opal Barker and husband Larry of Searcy; as well as twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and nineteen great-great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, November 18 from 6-8 PM at the Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 19, in the Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Sidon Cemetery.
