James Edward Smith

James Edward Smith, 77, of Griffithville, went to be with the Lord February 24, 2008. He was born in Griffithville to the late Nathan and Rachel Harl Smith. In addition to being a faithful husband, loving father, he was also President of the Winnie Banks Realty, member of the First Methodist Church in Griffithville, a 32nd degree Mason, member of the #49 Lodge in Searcy, a member of the Eastern Star, and served as the Mayor of Griffithville four terms.

Mr. Smith is survived by his loving wife, Bettye Smith, one son, James "Mickey" Smith and wife Jackie all of Griffithville. He was also blessed with two grandchildren, Brandon Cooper and Nikki Richards, and one great grandchild, Avery Richards.
