James Damous Townsend

James Damous Townsend, 89, of Searcy passed away Monday, April 28, 2014 at White County Medical Center. He was born June 9, 1924 in Rose Bud, Arkansas to the late Dewey and Laura Hartsell Townsend.

He was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for 43 plus years. He was a Master Mason at Pangburn Lodge 483.
He is survived by one son, Dewey Townsend (Reva) of Center Hill, Arkansas; one daughter, Glenda Sue Hensley (Jerry) of Center Hill, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Phil Hensley, Teddy Townsend, and Lorie Sinnott; and four great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Moffitt Townsend; and two sisters, Nora Vess and Amie Permenter.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014 at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church with interment following at Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
