Jimmy Wayne Zachary, 75, of Searcy passed away from this world August 5, 2024. He simply went to sleep holding his wife’s hand. Jimmy was born December 17, 1948 in East Prairie, Missouri to the late William Claude Zachary and Lois Zachary. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Joe William Zachary; 2 brothers, William Claude Zachary, Jr. and Roger Allen Zachary; 2 sisters, Claudette Ransom and Carolyn Hawkins.

Jimmy retired from the Missouri Pacific/Union Pacific Railroad after working there 32 years as well as serving on the executive board of his local railroad lodge. He was an avid sportsman who loved hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patsy Zachary; a son, Jimmy Wayne Zachary, Jr. and wife, Andrea of Maryland; two daughters, Natosha Dawn Zachary of Searcy and Melanie Spring Hendricks and husband, Tim of Beebe; 6 grandchildren, Makenzi Anice Zachary, Ashley Nicole Zachary, Austin Chase Butler, Robert Blaine Butler, Devon Claude Allen Ellerd and Jaxon Patrick McKinney; 3 sisters, Barbara Sisson, Julie Zachary and Lovina Bolen; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and many friends that he loved to spend time with.

A memorial service celebrating Jimmy’s life will be held at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home, 2616 S Main St, Searcy, AR on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. www.searcymceuenfuneralhome.com
