Johnnie Lavelle Taylor Rodgers, 97, passed away Friday, December 14, 2018. She was born on January 10, 1921 in Floyd, Arkansas to the late Luther and Virgie Taylor.
Ms. Rodgers was a faithful member of the Romance Church of Christ for eighty one years. She was a simple person who loved quilting and making jelly that was famous county wide. She spent a lot of time raising her four boys. Ms. Rodgers was part of the Romance community for more than eighty years. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memory are three sons; Richard Rodgers, Dewie E. Rodgers (Sheri), and Donald Rodgers (Paulette), a special niece; Deb McCormack (Rick), two sisters; Rose Ashcraft and Bobbie Lauer (Klaus), six grandchildren; Wade Rodgers, Mark Rodgers, Trisha Rodgers, Donna Porter, Dewie W. Rodgers, and Karen Meeks, twelve great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, long time caregiver; Penny Strickland, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded by her husband of sixty one years; Roy Burlie Rodgers, one son; Burlie Wendel Rodgers, one grandchild and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 18th from 1:00 till 2:00 pm at the Romance Church of Christ.
Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm also at Romance Church of Christ. Burial will be at the Romance Cemetery.
