Joseph Harry Holland was born on July 5, 1946, and went to be with the Lord on April 3, 2025. He was born near Quitman, AR, to Guyneth and Olen Holland. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Allen “Bud” Holland, and one sister, Ludie Jones. He married Peggy “Rosie” Kinder on August 23, 1969, in Salem AR.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy and his three children, Tanya LeAnn Strayhorn (David), Teresa Jean Jennings (Aaron), and Joseph Michael Holland (Kasey). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Scotty James Strayhorn, Abagail Faith Middleton (Hunter), Donald Hollis Smith (Natalie), Kaylea Grace Watters (Drew), Magenta Shea Dailey (Joshua), Alexander James Holland (Evelynn), Dallas Ray Smith, Karlie Jewell Holland, Dawson James Smith (Allie), Noah Jade Wyman (Zach), Journey Lyndan Germaine (Jack). Also, 4 great grandchildren, Colby Dewayne Benton, Rhett Lee Strayhorn, Madison Claire Strayhorn and Avery Mae Middleton.
Harry was a jack of all trades, Farmer, mechanic, math teacher, history teacher, craftsmen, gardener, tree cutter, wood splitter, story teller, carpenter, papa, father, husband, and a strong man of God. He was a natural teacher in school and in life. He could tell stories with no book necessary and would always keep us on the edge of our seats. Their home was a safe place for all and everyone was always welcome. Harry had a sense of humor and laugh that could light up any room. He will always be deeply loved and remembered.
A visitation will be held at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home on Monday, April 7, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by a celebration of Harry’s life at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Weir Cemetery. Arrangements by Searcy McEuen Funeral Home, www.searcymceuenfuneralhome.com.
