Joseph Landon Morris

Joseph Landon Morris, of Pangburn, Arkansas went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. A long time resident of Pangburn, Landon spent his last months at The Crossing in Searcy, Arkansas, where he made many friends. Landon was born in Pangburn on October 2, 1936 to James Russell and Macie Combs Morris.

When he was a teenager his family moved to Pontiac, Michigan where he worked at General Motors, retiring after 30 years. There he married the late Sharon Hartwig Morris. He then returned to Pangburn his hometown.

He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Landon is survived by his sister, Hazel Zahl of Allendale, Michigan and his brother, Willie Morris of Loudon, Tennessee as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his dearest friends, Al and Connie Hurst, Daniel and Debby Darby who were like family and made his life rich and full.

A celebration of Landon’s life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Pangburn United Methodist Church, 902 Church St., Pangburn, AR with Pastors, O.D. Turner and Willie Morris officiating. Viewing will be at 10 a.m. followed by a service at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Henderson Cemetery. Landon loved his church. Memorial donations can be made to Pangburn United Methodist Church.
