Judith Ann Snelson, 83, went to dance with joy on the streets of Heaven on November 12, 2024.
She was born on December 7, 1940 in Flora, Illinois. Judy’s life was defined by sharing the joy of Christ. She loved serving and helping others. She enjoyed music, playing the piano and singing. She was often called to sing solos at church. She was still singing to her new great granddaughter just a few days ago. She also enjoyed cooking, baking and crochet.
She loved fishing! She had a green thumb, growing numerous gardens and plants. Her laugh was infectious and she was always full of good advice. She was so strong, no matter what circumstances she was facing. If she didn’t have an immediate solution to a problem, then she would just say “it is, what it is” or “this too shall pass”.
Judy is survived by her three children, Dale (Kim), Bruce, and Dena Barker. Along with, Grandsons Brett, Colton and Connor. Brother Rick (Linda) Hardy. Nieces and Nephews Cindy, Amanda, Tom and Dave Hardy.
She also leaves to cherish her memory her bonus family, sisters Dee Brimer, Kathy Churchwell, Billie Neal and brothers Charles and Dale Snelson. Sons Phillip (Jessica), Mike (Lauree) and George. Grandchildren Arye, Blythe, Dakota, Jimmy and Joey and 4 great grand children.
Special travel companions nephew Bryant (Teresa) Brimer and Jim (Kathy) Drennan. Niece Amanda Stapleton and grandson Brody Harwell. Along with numerous other nieces, nephews and friends. She made friends easily and had a knack for turning friends into family.
Waiting for her at the gates of heaven were her sweetheart and husband W.L. “Dub” Snelson, her parents Eldon and Annabelle Hardy, brother Robert “Bob” Hardy and grandson Christopher.
Judy (Granny Juju) and her joy for life will forever live in our hearts. The loss of her physical presence is hard to accept, but we find peace in knowing her spirit lives on in the joy and love she instilled in us.
