Laveda Harden

Laveda Harden, 76, of Searcy passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014. She was born October 29, 1937 to the late Julius and Ardith Bennett Hughes in Letona, Arkansas.

Laveda loved crafts; she loved sewing, crocheting and making quilts. She treasured her grandchildren and her great grandchildren they were the apple of her eye. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dale Harden; one son, Kenneth Harden (Laura) of Ohio; four daughters, Robin Redding (Bill) of Texas, Debbie Morrison (Bob) of Arkansas, Renee Staggs (Larry) of Arkansas, and Tammy Chambers (Gary) of Arkansas; three brothers, Marvin Hughes (Bobbie) of Searcy, Melvin Hughes (Johnnie) of Searcy, and Roy Hughes (Linda) of Kensett; two sisters, Wilma Lee of Missouri, and Louise Spencer (Walter) of Searcy; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents Laveda was preceded in death by two sisters, Vernel Coursey and Inez Davis.

Family and friends there will be a Memorial service, Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Letona Cemetery. All funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
