Lois Jeanne (Hemingway) Lemmons passed into eternal rest on February 18, 2019 in Broken Arrow, OK at the age of 92. She was born on October 5, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Hugh W. and Mabel E. Hemingway. She received a BA degree from Harding College in 1947. She taught school at Mars Hill Bible School. Alabama for one year before marrying Joseph C. Lemmons on September 12th, 1948. Their life’s major work was serving Churches of Christ in Hamilton and Chillicothe, Missouri; Rochester, New York; New Egypt and Freehold, New Jersey; Idaho Springs and Parker, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her son Wayne Lemmons; her parents; an infant sister Ruth; brothers, Glen and Wayne Hemingway.
She is survived by her four children, Karen (Mike) Mason of Bixby, OK, Anita Lietzke of Guatemala, J (Wanise) Lemmons of Searcy, AR; Brian (Joanne) Lemmons of Venice, FL; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Her love for God and his family took precedence over everything else in life. Her strength, faith and acts of service were an encouragement to everyone who knew her.
