Lucille C. Peterson, 88, of Hot Springs, formerly of McRae died Monday, June 7, 2010. She was born July 28, 1921 in Washburn, North Dakota to the late Joseph and Helen Doros Holkup She graduated from nursing school in Baltimore, Maryland and worked in the health care profession as a registered nurse for 50 years. During WWII she cared for the wounded soldiers coming back to the states. Prior to Mrs. Peterson's retirement she worked for the Leisure Lodge in Searcy.
She is also preceded in death by her husband, Orvald A Peterson; four brothers, Joseph Holkup, James Holkup, John Holkup and Frank Holkup; as well as three sisters, Elizabeth Holkup, Helen Walsh and Ann Pickreign .
She is survived by her son, Thomas Peterson of Westminster, Colorado; her daughter, Bridget Peterson-O'Daniel of Hot Springs, Arkansas; two grandchildren; Benjamin Peterson and wife Natalie, Brittany Peterson and husband Tony Gutierrez; three great-grandchildren, Jazzlen Gutierrez, Jacob Peterson, and Ryan Peterson.
Visitation will be held Monday, 10 until 11 a.m. with funeral services following at 11 at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home in Searcy, Arkansas.
Interment will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Searcy, Arkansas.
