Lynn V. Woodall

Lynn "Shorty" Woodall, 89 of Searcy, Arkansas went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, March 24, 2010. He was born December 19, 1920 in McCrory, Arkansas to the late Luther G. and Allie D. Woodall.

Shorty, or "PaPa Shorty", as he was called by his three granddaughters, was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who lived life to the fullest. He loved the Razorbacks, gardening, and digging for diamonds, but most of all enjoyed every minute spent with his family, especially his granddaughters.

After illustrious football and basketball careers at Cotton Plant, Shorty served in the Air Force during WWII and returned home to McCrory where for 26 years, he owned Shorty's Serve All. After moving to North Little Rock, he worked for and retired from Arkla Gas Company, but retirement was not for him. He continued working first at Laman Library and then as a greeter at Wal-Mart. He continued greeting and making cotton candy at Wal-Mart upon moving to Searcy, until his health made it impossible for him to do so.

Shorty is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Louise Wiggins Woodall of Searcy; daughter, Sandra Jennings and husband, Ivon, of Cleveland, Tennessee; son, Rodger and wife, Anita, of Bryant, Arkansas; three granddaughters, Jenna and Becca Woodall of Bryant; and Cassie Jennings, of Cumming, Georgia; two sisters, Norma Tate and Bessie Kenner, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Shorty was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Beth Jennings, brother, Luther Woodall, and sister, Marie Bittle.

Shorty was a Mason, and a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Searcy.

Visitation will be held 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., Friday, March 26, 2010 at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home in Searcy, AR.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 27, 2010 in the chapel of Searcy McEuen Funeral Home in Searcy, AR.

Interment will follow the service at Pumpkin Bend Cemetery in McCrory, AR.

Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at Trinity Baptist Church.
