Margaret Thompson Brookshire

Margaret Thompson Brookshire died on October 29, 2017, at Earlene Howard Hospice in Springdale, AR.  She was born in Glasgow, Scotland on August 17, 1924, to Winifred Martin and was adopted by William and Margaret Thompson at birth.  She came to the U.S. in 1947 and married Guy F. Brookshire on Valentine’s Day 1948.  They were married for 42 years until his death in 1990.

She is survived by her three sons and their wives; William (Pamela), John (Rebecca), Frank (Ginger):  4 grandsons; Guy (Amanda), William (Craig), Madison (Emily), and Riley:  4 great-granddaughters; Ila Rae, Beatrix Rose, Blythe Margaret and Zelphia Ann.

Margaret was a long time resident of Searcy, active in the Junior League and the altar guild of Trinity Episcopal Church.  She was well loved for her generosity with her time and her home was always open for holiday dinners for those she knew would be alone.

The funeral will be at Trinity Episcopal Church, 200 N. Elm St., Searcy, AR 72143 at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 3, 2017.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to Trinity Episcopal Church Altar Guild or Green House Project at Legacy Village, 1303 NE Legacy Parkway, Bentonville, AR 72712.
