Mary Lillian Herekamp, 80, of Searcy passed away Saturday, June 20th at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Little Rock. She was born October 21, 1939 in Searcy to the late J.D. and Elvie Brandon.
Mary was a strong Christian woman that loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a very loving mother and Nana. She had several jobs in her life, teacher’s aide, sales clerk at J.C. Penney, Scout Leader, and Sunday School Teacher, but her favorite was selling Home Interiors. She loved to travel and talk to people everywhere she went. She never met a stranger. Mary loved to listen to gospel music. Alan Jackson was her favorite. She and her sisters traveled and sung at church and on the radio. She was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish her memory is her children, two sons, Scotty Herekamp (Sarah), and Greg Herekamp (Michelle); four granddaughters, Haley Curtis (Seth), Heather Holt (Kyle), Molly Herekamp (Will), and Ashton Herekamp; six great grandchildren, Maddison, Kaden, Paxton, Jaxton, Franklin, Michael, and one grand pup, Jake; and one sister, Frances Moody (Jerry).
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Ray Herekamp; and one sister, Shirley Mae Benton.
Visitation will be from 12:00 – 1:00 PM, Tuesday, June 23, 2020 Searcy McEuen Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, June 23rd at 1:00 PM at Searcy McEuen Chapel with burial following at Walker Cemetery.
