Melba "Annora" Fildes, 91, of Searcy passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013 at The Crossing at Riverside. She was born in Turrell, Arkansas to the late Elbert Lewis Adams and Cora Ida Cecil Tetters Adams on August 27, 1921.
She retired from Bell Telephone Company in Wichita, Kansas. She also served her country during WWII working at Cessna Aircraft Manufacturing in Wichita, Kansas. During her leisure time she enjoyed fishing and collecting antiques.
She is survived by her two brothers, Frank Adams and wife Kam of Searcy and Tommy Adams and wife Carmen of California; two sister in-laws, Mary Louise Adams and Beth Adams along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Herschel Fildes; four brothers, Lewis, Paul, Lamont, and Jerry Adams.
The family would like to thank all the nursing staff at The Crossing and also Arkansas Hospice Care for their care of Ms. Fildes.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 28th from 5-7 p.m. at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
Graveside services are 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 30th at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Cedar Vale, Kansas under the direction of Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home.
