Nellie Mae Cole

November 27, 1926 — July 15, 2016

Nellie Mae Cole, of Searcy, passed away at the age of 89 on July 15, 2016. She was born in 1926 in Newton, West Virginia to Granville and Ethel Moss.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Harlie Lee Cole; a sister Oreta of New York, and a son, Michael Lee Cole, of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is survived by her oldest son, Harlie David Cole and his wife Barbara, of Searcy, Arkansas; four grandchildren: Jennifer Hawes, JoEllyn Cooper, Leslie, Quinton, and David Cole; and six great-grandchildren.

Nellie and her husband were long-time members of the churches of Christ. They did their best to use their lives in God's service. After working two years in an aircraft factory during World War II, she spent the rest of her life as a loving wife and mother. Never one to call attention to herself, she was always more interested in serving the needs of others than tending to her own wants or needs. Everyone who knew her loved her.

Following a memorial service at 2:00, Sunday, July 17th at the College Church of Christ, burial will take place in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
All funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
