Raymond A. Hancock

Raymond A. Hancock, age 94 of Searcy, died Wednesday, September 26, 2007. He was born April 27, 1913 in Ft. Towson, Oklahoma to the late Garland and Anna Hancock, Sr. He worked as a steel building contractor for many years before retiring. He was a member of Valley Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Raymond Dale Hancock, and Buford D. Hancock of Harrison; a daughter, Reba Faye Hancock; two brothers, Ben Hancock of Borger, Texas and Garland A. Hancock, Jr. of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four sisters, Marie Petker of Borger, Texas, Pauline Neal of California, Ruth Howard of Tennessee and Dorothy Petker of California; and a granddaughter, Tonya Hancock.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Ruth Hancock of Searcy; a son, Mike Hancock and wife Mary Ann of Searcy; two daughters, Javeta Ann Hawthorne of Avery, Texas, and Carolyn Kay Woods and husband Ray of Honey Grove, Texas; two sisters, Annie Toles and Juanita Maas, both of Amarillo, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, September 28th at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 29th at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home with burial at Gum Springs Cemetery.
