Richard Lee Reed

Richard Lee Reed age 78, of Searcy AR, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2009. He was born in Tonkawa, Oklahoma on July 20, 1930 to the late Jack and Jesse Louise Turpin Reed. Mr. Reed was a Tech Sgt. in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He loved fishing, hunting and camping.

He is survived by his loving wife Anna Reed of fifty-six years; two sons, Wesley Reed of Longview, Texas and Richard Leon (Tessie) of Searcy; one daughter, Anita Martin (Frank) of Bald Knob; one brother, Bobby Reed (Margaret) of Odessa, Texas; three sisters, Jackie Jean Crandall, Judy Lou McAnarney and Nancy Sue Altig all of Amarillo, Texas; one son-in-law, Jimmy Doss of Searcy; nine grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by one daughter, Juanita Doss; one brother, Charles W. Reed ; one sister, Dolores Cranford and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Searcy Church of The Nazarene with Pastor Randall Beaty officiating. The grandchildren will act as honorary pallbearers.
