Robert Jack "Bob" Sanders, Sr. 84, of West Point died Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at his residence. He was born June 12, 1926 in West Point to the late Thomas Milton and Lenora A. Garretson Sanders.
Mr. Sanders was a member of Kensett First Baptist Church and a World War II veteran. He was a charter member of Quarter Century Club of Matthews, International. He was a retired molder, a farmer and a life long resident of West Point, Arkansas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Edith Sanders, two sons; Thomas Joel Sanders and Robert Jack Sanders, Jr, two brothers, Jake Sanders and Benjamin Sanders, two sisters; Inez McSwain and Woodrow Spurgeon
He is survived by two daughters; Priscilla Lenora Rhodes of Searcy and Ella Beth Durham of West Point. Two brothers, M. G. Sanders of West Point, William Mac Sanders of Harrisburg, Virginia, one sister, Ellanore Jackson of Searcy; four grandchildren, Bradley Sanders, Benjamin Sanders, D.J. Durham and Matthew Sanders. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, May 27 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Kensett First Baptist Church in Kensett.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of The Quarter Century Club of Matthews International
Interment will follow at West Point Cemetery under the direction of Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
