Thomas “Old Man” Wesley Atkin, 80, of Romance passed away Friday, March 16th at his home. He was born October 20, 1937 in Porterville, California to the late Frank and Ardis (Buffington) Atkin.
Thomas was a jack of all trades. He worked construction for 40 years and could build anything he put his mind to. Everyone on the job would call him “Old Man” since he was the oldest on the crew and wouldn’t respond to anything else. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 40 years, Linda (Sparks) Atkin; four sons, Jason Atkin, Nathan Atkin (Misty), Dustin Atkin (Tamara) all of Romance, and Scotty Atkin (Kristi) of Mt. Vernon; one sister, Adrian Kever of Heber Springs; and eleven grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Katrina Atkin; and one brother, Gilbert Atkin.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 20th from 6:00-8:00pm at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 21st at 2:00pm in the Searcy McEuen Chapel with burial following at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
