Walter Loran James

Walter Loran James, 86, of Higginson, AR passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009. He was born January 28, 1923 to the late Ottis E. and Effie Mae (Rice) James. He was a member of the Dogwood Methodist Church, the VFW, and the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 60 years, Geraldine (Bailey) James and a brother, Ira James.

Survivors include two daughters; Barbara Lewis (Gary Smothers) of Higginson and Karen Bowen (Larry) of Bradford, one brother; Owen James (Margie) of Higginson, four grandchildren; DeWayne Lewis, Shelley Pike (Keith), Marty Bowen and Marcy Kueffner, and four great-grandchildren; Lauren and Austin Pike, and Miles and Cy Kueffner; two brothers-in-law, Wade Franklin Bailey and Richard Bailey; one sister -in-law, Evelyn Southward; also a host of nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 16, 2009, from 6 to 8 PM at the Dogwood Methodist Church.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, June 17, 2009, 10:00 AM at the church with Pastor Bill Wise and Tom Feather officiating. Burial will follow at Dogwood Cemetery.
