William E. Chambless, 88 of Searcy, known to his family and friends as "Daddy Bill" and "Bill" died Friday, September 22, 2006. Born November 17, 1917 in Van Buren, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Guy and Anna Frantz Chambless. Mr. Chambless was a machinist for Missouri Pacific Railroad until 1945 when moving to Searcy. He was employed by Truman Baker Chevrolet Company in 1954 then worked for Natural Gas Pipeline Company until his retirement as a machinist maintenance specialist in 1980. He was a member of Grace Methodist Church now known as St. Paul's United Methodist Church; was a member of Elks Lodge for 29 years; loved golfing, fishing and was an avid Razorback fan. He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Louise Benton Chambless and his only sister, Bernice Dunaway.
Survivors include two daughters, Camelia Ann and husband William "J" Reed of Garfield, AR; Linda Kay and husband Bobby Joe Palmer of Searcy, AR; 10 grandchildren, Eric, Aaron, Brian, Terry, Mike, Kevin, Kayla, Lana, Monty and Andra; 21 great grandchildren.
