Winona Myrleen Weathers

Winona Myrleen Weathers, 95, of Searcy, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023. She was born August 12, 1928 in Bradford, Arkansas to the late Leonard Alvin and Hattie (Throckmorton) Dunn. She graduated Valedictorian of the Bald Knob Class of 1946. She had been a member of the Church of God since 1947, but more recently attended Searcy First Assembly of God. Winona and her late husband, Virgil, were pastors of South Heights Church of God for 25 years. She loved her ladies’ ministries and helping those in need. Along with these ministries, she was a member of the State Ladies Auxiliary Board and District President for 32 years.

She is survived by her son, David Weathers (Barbara); grandchildren, Scott Smith (Teresa), Kristi Smith, and Jeremy Smith (Heather); 7 great-grandchildren, Lauren Mason, Eden Sherman, Blake Smith (Jami), Annika Smith, Trevor Smith, Nicolas Smith, and Mason Smith; 5 great-great-grandchildren, Hannah, Bailey, and Leah Sherman, and Cameron and Isaac Mason; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Virgil Weathers; daughter, Ann Smith; son-in-law, Billy Smith; two grandchildren, Mandy Mason and Tony Tate; great-grandchild, Kane Mason; great-great-grandson, Daryl Sherman; siblings, Jane, Christie, Hasten and Alvin.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. at the Searcy McEuen Funeral Home with services to follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the White County Memorial Gardens.
